In these three months, I conducted some interviews as a part of homework. The most memorable interview for me was a latest interview imposed by Alexis. The objective is to research the cultural difference among countries. We asked people in TRU to answer my questions. We prepared 10 questions related to cultural differences. After asking 10 people, we had to make a presentation and report about this by next week. It is so hard work, but as a culmination, I want to make a good one, so I deal with it hard. What I surprised is the differences of people’s way to talk and the facial expression. One Nigerian man, he had an unfriendly face, so I was scared, but afterwards, I learned that this is common in Nigeria. For a long time, until now, in Nigeria, there are lots of wars against other countries and even inside. To protect from others, Nigerian people tend to be an unfriendly face. Fortunately, after talking, he laughed at my questions, and at the end, we were able to make a good relationship. In case of Mexican man, I had thought that Mexican people are all positive people, but I found it was my misunderstanding. Some Mexican people I asked were very strict with others. My image of Mexican people changed. I know this man is not a typically Mexican man, but I got a new image. Like this, from this experience, I felt other culture in person. In classroom, we can’t get such a knowledge. This interview assignment seemed so hard at first, but I had a great experience.
