Summary

Through the stay in Kamloops, I learned a lot from many experiences and I feel I grew up so much. I will explain about three things that I successfully did.

First, during this stay, I was able to try everything that I wanted to try. Before coming here, I never such a person. I used to dislike trying and standing out. However, I didn’t waste a time and money, I tried many challenging works. Like trip to Vancouver by myself, or being a radio personality. Actually, they were really tough and challenging for me, but I made it. I believe these experiences made me aggressive person.

Second is the motivation of studying English. In the beginning of this stay, I was shocked because nobody understood my English. In addition to this, I couldn’t understand what host family were saying. In Japan, I studied English for long years, but my confidence was broken. However, I didn’t want to give up and decided to improve my English skills. I learned English every day, every night. Before going to bed, I always watched some ted talks and listening videos. Also, every day I talked with my host father in English. At first, it seemed like a same result. He spoke fast, and sometimes I couldn’t catch up with the conversation. Step by step, I got to understand what he said. Now, I can talk with him easily. I found the fun of conversation in other language.

Third is to get to think seriously about my future. In TRU, I met and got friends with many foreign people. They were almost same years old as me, but most of them had an exact dream and strived for their future. I was inspired by them. I realized many people have various dream. Some people came TRU to get a job in their country even they had a job before. It was amazing for me. They made me notice the importance of thinking future.

In Canada, I had a great experience that never happen in Japan. After going back to Japan, I will study more and be an organized person. Thank you!
